The Peak Lookout restaurant, formerly the Old Peak Café, is a famous Hong Kong landmark, now a Grade II Historic Building. The site began life as a rest place for sedan chair carriers and was established as a café in 1947. Oval Partnership’s proposals to upgrade the external terraces will provide a long-overdue improvement for visitors to this dramatically sited bar and restaurant. Our design strips away years of accumulated poor quality uncoordinated paving and decking to re-emphasize the magnificent tree specimens that shade the outside eating areas and characterize the wooded slopes of this south side of Hong Kong Island.
