Working with the owners, a local Vietnamese family, Oval Partnership have secured a positive pre-application response for the sensitive redevelopment of land behind a terrace of buildings on Deptford High Street. The proposal is to create three to five mews houses to provide high quality residential accommodation whilst at the same time upgrading and improving the immediate surroundings to help secure the longer term future of the Conservation Area fabric and public realm.
The existing buildings are part of an intact mid-C19th terrace of eight (which replaced an earlier terrace of fourteen timber houses built c.1700, known as Tinderbox Row).
The proposed grouping of the mews houses is staggered on plan to create pockets of private external space and enhanced privacy between units.
