Oval Partnership are working on a detailed feasibility study for a major extension to the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Art’s campus on the waterfront in Hong Kong Island’s Wan Chai district. The preferred massing for the new extension locates the teaching, education, and public spaces in a podium that steps back at each level with extensive green terraces and ramps creating a connected landscape of the roof. Student amenities and a student hostel are located in a tower that sits above the podium. A raised walkway system links the APA site to the new park along the waterfront and other nearby buildings.
